Baker & Brown file amicus brief on behalf of WVCADV
by Sarah K. Brown on October 5th, 2009
Working in a pro bono capacity, Baker & Brown recently filed an amicus brief in the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals on behalf of the West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence. The case, Kimberly Thomas v. Joseph B. Morris, No. 35141, provides the Court with the opportunity to define what constitutes domestic violence under West Virginia Code § 48–27-202(5). We are proud to partner with an organization that provides important services, resources, and support to many West Virginians.
The Court will hear oral argument in the case on Wednesday, October 7, 2009. A copy of the brief is available on the Supreme Court’s website.
